What am I doing with CafeJoyce?
I've been thinking about what I want to do with CafeJoyce going forward on YouTube, and I guess that's had me thinking about this accompanying blog. I don't think I'm a very good blogger because I am very impatient. I get a little obsessed with something for a while and then I'm restless and want to move on. By no means have I done that with YouTube, which is why I continue to love it so much, but my main thing is that - as with many things in my life - I'm striving to improve.
I really want CafeJoyce on YouTube to be successful. Right now I do everything organically, by myself, but with my professional life in Marketing, I know there must be further ways to grow my channel. Having that outlet to be creative, share things with people, on an online library which I can continue to look back on, is something I love. Every year I'm upgrading the technology I use to produce content, from the tools and techniques I use to edit, to my recording devices for better quality, stability, and audio. And alongside this I need to continue looking for ways to make my channel more appealing to viewers, which is part of the fun! I'm trying to look at things objectively to see what I can tweak and improve. The layout, the thumbnails, the channel art.. everything, bit by bit. As well as being snowed under in footage to upload!
I feel like I've found my niche of episodic-like daily vlogs, in an interesting, foreign country. It's what I personally like to look back on for memories. So whilst I'll add a sprinkling of the artsy, no-voice vlogs, I like using my videos as a sort of diary instead. I guess it doesn't matter if this isn't a thumb-stopper, it stays true to what I like.
I'm excited for my next few years, where I intend to move to Japan for a short period, and document my life there and my experience. I can't wait for that new opportunity to create fresh and interesting content for everyone! And for myself to keep :)
So for now, I'm doing as I've always done, looking for ways to improve, and honing my channel to something I'm proud of. I'd hate for this blog to stay so stagnant though, so I'll try my best to post once in a while too! (doesn't help that there's no free apps left for blogspot my phone!)
Please stay tuned for what's coming next on CafeJoyce! Take care everyone x
